Helping Families in Crisis

Local Houston Charity, Inc. assists local Houston Area families who are experiencing a hardship or crisis situation. We provide furniture, clothing, and household essentials at no cost to qualifying families.

We are an actual local Houston charity, not a for-profit middle-man. This ensures that your donations and the proceeds from your donation go directly to those in need — not to overhead or outsourcing.

Who Qualifies for Assistance

Families in Crisis

Families experiencing sudden hardship such as job loss, medical emergency, fire, flood, or other crisis situations that have left them without basic necessities.

Referred Families

Families referred by a local church, non-profit, or community organization. A letter of referral on the organization's letterhead is required.

Houston Area Residents

We serve families located in the Greater Houston area. Our service area covers all of Houston and surrounding communities.

Church & Non-Profit Referrals

Local Houston Charity welcomes referrals from all churches or non-profits in the Greater Houston Area. Should a church, organization, or non-profit group become aware of a family in need, that organization can refer the family for assistance.

The organization should provide the family with a letter of referral written on the organization's letterhead. Referrals should include the organization's contact information, type of assistance needed, and a brief summary describing the crisis situation.
